Wow! What a place to visit. Most area people have visited this place at least once. It is geared toward children. There is lots to do and see. There are statues also if you are into art. Many works of art can be found on various Smithsonian inventory web pages. The monkey house is reopened and better than ever and the outside are so close the smell will make you sick..that's a good thing!

The Philadelphia Zoo just celebrated its 150th anniversary a few months ago when the weather was still warm. If you stop by you can probably still pick up a t-shirt to commemorate so sublime an event. There is so much to celebrate and the attractions are better than ever.

One of the most diversified animal collections in the world and an exceptional record of pioneering in important scientific research distinguished the Zoological Gardens, first "zoo" to be established in the United States

The Philadelphia Zoo was incorporated in 1859. Today it contains 2,700 specimens, including 600 mammals, 1,000 birds, 1,000 reptiles, and 100 amphibians.
