About the Building
The building is situated along Market Street. There are no windows on this side of the building which appears to be the front. It is all brick. The county seal is to the top left along with the name of the building in black letters. The rear of the building bears a beautiful mural which illustrates the industrial history of Camden.

There is a warming center in the lobby of the Aletha R. Wright Administration Building which opens to the homeless on nights when temperatures dip below 20 degrees. After reading various articles about this building it appears they provide every imaginable social service out there including food stamps, welfare, family care unit, transitional living and other services.

About the Woman
Aletha Wright was a well-known community activist and very well respected. There is a dedicated tree to her on the landing at City Hall as you walk up to the main entrance. There is also the Aletha R. Wright Vision of Hope Center named in honor of this former Freeholder. She was Camden County's first African-American female freeholder. She was also director of Camden County's human services and actually predicted Camden's rebirth along the Waterfront, which came to pass. Sadly she died in '94 before seeing the true realization of this dream.
