Potey Sundial 2009: Saint Veran, Queyras, France - Sundials on Waymarking.com

On our waymarking trip to Saint Veran, we came across a work in progress, Rémi Potey painting a new sundial on the Marie in Saint Veran, Potey is a skilled artist and sundial painter with about a dozen beautiful modern sundials and restorations in the Saint Veran area, and perhaps a hundred in France. This new sundial is sponsored by the "Accompagnateurs en Montaigne" celebration the thirtieth anniversary of the organization. The motto on the dial says it all. "Tu accompagnes le temp, nous, les hommes". (You accompany time, we men.) Les accompagnateurs accompany people hiking, snowshoeing and skiing touring in the mountains. See (visit link)

We did not met Potey as we visited around lunch time and the site was unoccupied but the scaffold, bags of lime and fresh fresco painting indicated his progress.
