Denver Federal Center USGS new benchmark (5665) - Denver, CO - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

The USGS office at the Denver Federal Center teaches a free map, compass and GPS class which I attended several years ago. They demonstrated how technological improvements have aided cartography by using the two USGS Benchmarks in front of the building. The original benchmark was found to be off by about 100' when they USGS employees began to teach the class. So they had this second, more accurate benchmark placed at this more accurate location (WM7RWJ).

The coordinates on the benchmark read: Elevation 5665 feet above sea level; NGVD88; 39 42 42.6N; 105 07 30.0 W; NAD85

1. A closeup photo of the mark taken by you is required.
2. A 'distant' photo including the mark in the view is highly recommended. Include the compass direction you faced when you took the picture.
