NZ0850 - USGS W60, Oregon - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This benchmark is located off Rim Drive about 0.65 miles south of Vidae Falls. The benchmark is about 300 feet southeast of the Rim Drive along the Crater Peak Trail (which is an old road segment at this location). The cap is set in a rock ridge about 5 feet above the trail and 25 feet southeast of the trail. The cap was set by the USGS in 1931 and was marked W60. Roads have changed since published description below.

ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF KERR NOTCH, KLAMATH COUNTY, ON THE RIM ROAD HIGHWAY, ABOUT 2.7 MILES SOUTHEAST OF GOVERNMENT CAMP, AT VIDAE POINT, ABOUT 270 FEET SOUTHEAST OF SURVEY STATION 131+25, 25 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 15 FEET SOUTH OF THE END OF A RIDGE, IN A ROCK LEDGE, AND ABOUT 5 FEET HIGHER THAN THE ROAD. A UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY STANDARD DISK, STAMPED W 60 1931.
