DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1975 (JCL) THE STATION IS THE BALL ATOP THE WATKINSVILLE MURROW BROTHERS WATER TANK. THE TANK HAS A CYLINDRICAL BODY WITH A CONICAL TOP AND HEMISPHERICAL BOTTOM, SUPPORTED BY FOUR TRUSSWORK LEGS. IT IS SILVER IN COLOR AND IS APPROXIMATELY 125 FEET HIGH. LOCATED AT THE EAST EDGE OF WATKINSVILLE, 0.5 MILE SOUTHEAST FROM THE CENTER OF TOWN, 0.1 MILE WEST OF DEPOT STREET, 0.1 MILE SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF BARNETT SHOALS ROAD AND AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE WAREHOUSE COMPLEX.
