This zinc mrker is an obelisk that is the headstone just for the wife. James Bird has a Civil War era Government issued headstone next to Susuan. I found no other information on James or Susan. James was part of 15th Iowa. This regiment took part in the battles of Shiloh, Vicksburg, and Sherman's March to the Sea.
