At the Alex McKenzie Arboretum & Picnic Area you'll find a large grassy area with longdrops (toilets) just over the footbridge. You can stay here for four nights. Suggest calling 0800 732 732 for details.

The Alex McKenzie Arboretum was established as an arboretum for a logging company. In recent years the ownership transferred to Southland District Council to maintain the area.

At the site there is no clear indication that you can camp here. Please refer to the website below for details.
