Wat Chaimongkron covers several acres of land just back from Second Road in Pattaya. It can be reached easily by a local 'baht bus' from most of the tourist hotels and accommodation in Pattaya. Inside the visitor will find a half dozen buildings: including a crematorium, a school for monks, areas for prayer, and a Buddha.

I was told that the Wat is open 24 hours, however, the monks are only 'on duty' during the daylight hours. The central courtyard is used as a parking area, this I assume raises funds for the Wat. This area is also used for public events and festivals. Entry is free, but feel free to make a donation. There is a small massage shop inside the temple using blind and deaf staff, if you feel so inclined.

You are required to remove your shoes before entering the Wat. Keep in mind that the marble steps, exposed to the sun, are extremely hot. Step lively. Also, many Buddhist ceremonies involve sipping sacred water—if you are a westerner/non-local, do not. Later that night the results will be explosive. For courtesies sake, when offered the water, bow your head slightly, put the cup close to your lips and make a sipping gesture.
