The cornerstone of Jones Hall is just to the left of the main doors. It is simply carved with the year "1931"

The building was erected by the YMCA as their educational program expanded. It was then called The Main Campus Building. In 1967 it was renamed Jones Hall to honor the University's first president. The building was built entirely of Indiana Limestone by three hundred tradesmen at a cost of $350,000.
Today the building is the cornerstone of Youngstown State University.
