Québec City Hall is a National Historic Site of Canada which was designated in 1984 and plaqued in 1988. It is located in the heart of the Old City of Québec. You'll find the granite stone with the dark red plaque near the main entrance at the east side of the building accessible from Rue Des Jardins. Close by, on the other side of the walkway, is another granite stone with a photo and a plaque of the old Jesuit College.

L'HÔTEL DE VILLE DE QUÉBEC
QUÉBEC CITY HALL
Construit en 1895-1896 sur le site de l’ancien collège
des Jésuites, l’hôtel de ville est un édifice imposant
dont l’aménagement permit de loger facilement les
nombreux services municipaux durant plusieurs années.
C’est aux architectes Georges-E. Tanguay et Alfred-N.
Vallée que l’on doit cet attrayant ensemble d’éléments
décoratifs si populaires à l’époque victorienne. L’édifice
fut agrandi en 1929 d’après les plans de l’architecte
Raoul Chênevert. La majesté et l’élégance de l’extérieur
et la riche décoration de l’intérieur en font l’un des
hôtels de ville les plus intéressants au Canada.
Built in 1895-1896 on the site of the old Jesuit
College, this grand building fully accommodated offices
needed to administer the city’s extensive municipal
services for many years. A prominent local architectural
firm, Tanguay and Vallée, was responsible for the design
which features an attractive blend of decorative
elements often found in Victorian architecture. In 1929
a handsome addition was erected with plans drawn by
architect Raoul Chênevert. By virtue of its monumental
and elegant exterior and richly decorated interior, this
building is one of Canada’s most stately city halls.
