NOS 853 4975 F Tidal is a National Ocean Survey tidal station located along Harbor Road in the Beesley’s Point section of Upper Township, Cape May County, New Jersey. The disk is about 20 feet south-southeast of the centerline of Harbor Road, 4.1 feet southwest of wood utility pole BT00004 A18423, one foot northeast of a metal witness post and standard sign, and one foot below the surface and protected by a PVC pipe. The disk was set by the National Ocean Survey in 1997 and documented for inclusion in the National Spatial Reference System by the New Jersey Geodetic Survey in 2000. The disk is stamped 4975 F 1977, and is in the National Geodetic Survey database at PID = AM6964 (
visit link) . To reach the station from the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 25 to County Road 623 (Roosevelt Blvd) westbound. Go northwest on County Road 623 for about 0.30 miles to the intersection with US Highway 9. Turn right and go northeast on US Highway 9 for about 1.85 miles to Harbor Road on the right, immediately before reaching the Tuckahoe Inn (note, there is no approach from the north as the US Highway 9 bridge over Great Egg Harbor Bay is closed). Turn right on Harbor Road and go northeasterly for about 0.18 miles to pole BT00004 and the disk on the right. The pole and disk are in a small island formed by Harbor Road and a large, un-vegetated lot on the south side of the road.
