The Hilton Waikoloa Village is the most amazing place we have ever stayed. It's located on the Kona coast of the island of Hawaii approximately 19 miles from Keahole-Kona International Airport.
With 65 acres, 1240 guest rooms and nine restaurants (Kirin Chinese Restaurant was exceptional.) -- it's a big place. You can get around by a monorail, canalboats, or wander the covered Museum Walkway featuring $7 million in art and artifacts.
There are several pools, the most impressive of which is the Kona Pool, which covers over 3 acres, has a 175-foot waterslide, sandy bottom children's pool and behind the waterfall is a grotto with hot tubs. If you like salt water, there is a four acre swimming/snorkeling lagoon. One evening we watched sea turtles swim into the lagoon and back out into the ocean.
This is a family friendly resort. There are activities for everyone including shopping, golf and the Dolphin Quest Learning Center.
