These murals are located inside the courtyard of the Governor's Palace of the state of Yucatan. They depict the Mayan Civilization over the past centuries.

Information about Mural I:

Mural I: "Social Evolution of Man in the Yucatan" shows us the various stages of in the evolution of the Mayan man since his golden age; we see him at his daily activities of hunting, fishing, building great temples, worshiping his divinities...But the good times come to an end when the high priest Chilam Balam prophecies the arrival of a new religion and white men, who arrive in the Mayan lands with their firearms, their horses and the cross which the defeated will be forced to adore. The old stone idols are destroyed.
