Apalachin Marsh is one of the Waterman Center's numerous nature preserves. The Marsh is unusual in that it lies within the median of New York State Route 17, soon to be Interstate 86.
A short path leads from the trailhead to a tunnel under the eastbound lanes of Route 17. After passing through this tunnel, you reach the main trail loop.
Parking consists of a gravel pullout on the northern side of Route 434 in Apalachin. The trailhead is at the eastern end of this pullout.
