This sandbar is accessable only by water - however, it's a favorite spot for boaters to anchor and let the kids (old and young alike) get out and splash around.

Located at the end of Heron Drive in Superior, WI - this sandbar is an absolute favorite of the locals. It divides the river from Kimball's bay. Be careful not to approach the sandbar too quickly as it can raise havoc with your boat's motor. The water on this bar is only several inches deep for close to 100' out from the point (and the bar is 20-40 feet wide depending upon where you're standing on it) - but, beware the dropoffs on either side. It quickly goes to 10 feet deep of either side - so, even though it's only several inches deep along the sandbar, be sure your youngsters are wearing their lifejackets. Enjoy this spot!
P.S. The water here is much MUCH warmer than out in Lake Superior.
