History of this convent and one from the oldest functional hospitals in Prague is connected with Countess Markéta Valdštejn-Cernín. She was a donator of the construction of vast complex of Convent and hospital with Church of The Seven Dolors of Mary. Famous Bohemian Baroque architect Kilián Ignác Dienzenhofer started work on the beautiful Baroque convent in August 1724, but the whole complex of buildings was finished after 1735. The Convent's hospital was during 370 years of service rebuilt and interiors & infrastructure modernised several times and is still fully operational, again in the frame of St. Elisabeth Order.
