Installed in the summer of 2008, this new nautical flagpole stands outside the entrance to the Erie Basin Marina. Inside the marina area is a hot dog stand, a lookout tower, several beautiful gardens, as well as the departure point for several sightseeing boat tours.

The United States and incorrect City of Buffalo flags are on the mast extension. From the yardarms are nine maritime flags spelling out "ERIE BASIN".
