The plaque sits at one of the front entrances and it reads:

Venerate The Deceased

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1689 recorded a quit claim deed with Duval County Circuit Court on April 18, 2005 and became the sole assignee of Philips/Craig Swamp Cemetery. It is an objective of this organization to provide proper decorum and revere the final resting place of military veterans and others who lie within its hallowed confines. May those herein rest in peace with honor.
