In the ground level twisting hallway of MIT's Stata Center on Vassar Street is a large wooden crate where an old weather radar display sits. There is a plaque on the crate that states that there is a time capsule inside. The plaque states:

"Building 20 Time Capsule
"Designed and Constructed in 1998-1999 by Tanisha L. Lloyd, Class of 1999 (Center) and Sonia Tulyani, Class of 2000 (Right). Undergraduate Research Opportunities Project Supervisor, Prof. Emeritus, J. Francis Reinties (Left).

"Tanisha Lloyd and Sonia Tulyani could not have invented a more intriguing research project than the creation of a custom time capsule to commemorate the fifty-five year history of MIT's famous Building 20. MIT has at least ten time capsules around the campus but Lloyd and Tulyani's is the first to be completely designed, constructed and filled by students. It contains memorabilia and artifacts from Building 20, student essays and a collection of items about MIT and global affairs in 1998. Stored within this pedestal, the time capsule is to be opened in 2053, fifty-five years after Building 20 was demolished to make way for the Ray and Maria Stata Center for Computer, Information, and Intelligence Sciences."

The Stata Center is distinctly different from the other buildings in the area and is open during the day and evening hours. There is metered parking in the area.
