The William H. Hull House was built in 1887. The house is in an asymmetrical Italianate style, it one of a very few Italianate styled houses in Murphysboro.  The house is located along the main artery through town. The house was built for William Hull a successful newspaper man and merchant in Murphysboro, who was actively involved in the social and political scene in Murphysboro in the late nineteenth century.  The home has had four different owning families during its history.  The current owner painstakingly restored the house to its earlier glory.  The house now houses a stained glass business.
