It took awhile but I finally found out what a skew bridge is. Skew - placed or turned obliquely (slanting or sloping); twisted to one side. Another word they kept using was voussoir - a stone in an arch shaped to fit its curve. So if I got it correctly this bridge is built on a slant with all the stones slanting also. As I walked under and through this bridge, with 3 arches, I just couldn't get over the work and planning and the talent it took to make this bridge. It's not in the best part of town but the bridge is worth seeing. It was a very cold and windy day when I came to see this bridge. Ice was hanging from the underside of the bridge. I walked under it and as I turned to take a picture of it. The ice fell to the street right where I had just passed! Wow, that was close!
This bridge is a railroad bridge with a street going through it and on either side a place for people to walk.
So take a pic of you and the bridge, but if you don't feel comfortable doing so, just sit in your car and take a pic of the bridge or sign. The important part is you stopped to see this usual bridge.
