A favourite overnight campervan stopover beside the sea at Miranda's Seabird Coast. There are no facilities, bring everything you need. There doesn't seem to be any restriction on length of stay.
This is also a popular bird watching area.
Drive off the main road, East Coast Road, onto a track that runs some distance along the shelly beachfront and select your parking place. There are usually several vans already parked there, set up with camp tables and chairs under their awnings. The view is stunning, across the Firth of Thames to the Coromandel Peninsula. Bring your fishing rod!
