The Customs House is located on Broadway at 8th Avenue, just West of the Nashville live music district. The building, whose corner stone dates it back to 1877, is a very majestic looking historic building.

Designed by W. A. Potter, the building was built to be the offices for the government customers and internal revenue services. It was also used for federal courts, and the Post Office.
