Tanimura and Antle is one of the Salinas valley's prominent grower/wholesalers of salad vegetables. This location in Spreckels is their main cooler, where vegetables which have been picked in coastal California are delivered to be chilled before being shipped elsewhere in the country. Rail transport used to be critical for shipping fresh vegetables from the west coast to central US, but now most are transported by semi trucks. This railroad car is on the old siding at the cooler. It has been fitted with lights to illuminate the Tanimura and Antle sign.
