These are the village stocks in Aynho and they are an important historical site with a marker plaque.

The stocks are on the westerly side of the village against the wall and are surrounded by railings. There is a plaque which reads as follows:

'AYNHO STOCKS
THESE STOCKS WERE ERECTED
NEAR THIS SITE BETWEEN
1700 AND 1725
BY THE ORDER OF
THOMAS CARTWRIGHT ESQ
AND WERE LAST USED FOR OFFENDERS
IN THE PERIOD 1800 - 1850'
