DESCRIBED BY FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1982. PUNTA GORDA FOREST SERVICE LOOKOUT TOWER IS LOCATED ABOUT 8-1/2 MILES SOUTHEAST OF PUNTA GORDA. IT IS ON NORTHEAST SIDE OF U.S. ROUTE 41 NORTHBOUND LANE. IT IS A STANDARD SKELETON STEEL LOOKOUT TOWER ABOUT 110 FEET HIGH WITH A RADIO ANTENNA EXTENDING ABOUT 25 FEET ABOVE THE TOP. THE POINT OF OBSERVATION WAS THE HIGHEST POINT ON ROOF OF TOWER.
