Closed in 1953 the Double Cola Bottling Company provided cold refreshment to the local community for 25 years. This sign, building and several old bottles are all that remains.

DOUBLE COLA BOTTLING COMPANY

History:
Members of the Tarver and Sherod families opened a botteling business in Johnson City, Tennessee 1928 on 213 South Boone Street in Johnson City, Tennessee. DBA "Quality Beverage Company."

Company name is changed in 1935 to the "Quality Orange Kist Beverage Company"

In 1938 the Tarver family changed the company name to "Double Cola Bottling Company."

The company folded in 1953.
