The Theodore Meysenburg mansion at 5 Westmoreland Place was built in 1893. The Richardsonian Romanesque style mansion was designed by the architectural firm of Eames and Young for Theodore Meysenburg. Mr. Meysenburg was an immigrant from Germany, arriving the in the United States at age 16. He served in the Civil War achieving the rank of Captain. After the war he became very successful in an iron work business.
