This mural is located on State Street in Bristol, Virginia and features two of NASCARS Greatest Stars, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Richard Petty. During race weeks, which are held twice a year at the nearby Bristol Motor Speedway, the mural serves as a great backdrop for race fans visiting Downtown Bristol when State Street is renamed "Speed Street." The mural was completed in 2001 and is directly across the street from another mural (visit link) entitled the Birthplace of Country Music.
