Stopped by a day before the opening as the weather forecast for the grand opening on Tuesday December 9th is heavy rain versus sunshine.

Best information source is the local paper article (http://www.timesnews.net/article.php?id=9010150).

The three-acre park is an off-leash, fenced recreation area where dogs may legally run, play and socialize with other dogs. The park has a 6-foot-high, vinyl-coated chain-link fence all around a wooded site with all natural features. It is divided into two sections — a 2.5-acre section for larger dogs and a half-acre section for older and smaller dogs. The cost of the dog park came in at budget of $40,000.

People who want to bring their dogs to the new dog park must first register their dog at the Civic Auditorium beginning Monday. Dog owners must bring a copy of vaccination records for each dog, sign a release of liability, and pay the registration fee — $20 a year for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog. Non-city residents pay $25 and $15, respectively. Owners will use a key card to gain entry into the park, and all dogs must wear a special tag obtained from the city while in the park.

List of rules on dogbone sign (see picture in gallery). Park hours are dawn to dusk.

Bathroom and water facilities to be built later.
