This harbor is home port to most of the commercial fishing fleet on the central coast, including the sport-fishing charter boats. Visitors can buy fish fresh off the boats when they dock. Fishing from the pier in harbor water is OK, but no overhead casting is allowed. There are fish-cleaning sinks at the foot of the pier, nice public restrooms, and plenty of parking. There are also a couple of fish-n-chip shops nearby.
According to CA fishing regulations, no license is required to fish from this ocean pier (or from any other free public-access pier in CA). However, all other fishing regulations (size, bag limits, and seasons) still apply.
