"Constructed in the Italianate style in 1884-85, the two-story brick house, located in Auburn, was built by Wilber T. Reed, a native of Ohio. Reed's grocery and general merchandise store was important to the early settlers of central and western Nemaha County" - Nebraska State Historical Society website
