If you want to see a beautiful library, stop by this 2002 SD branch library just west of the Chargers' stadium. There is parking outside, but if it's full, feel free to fight the mob of shoppers living in capitalistic bliss at the nearby mega-stores.
The City of San Diego is in a bit of a financial bind, and the hours of many branches have been reduced to save money. The Mission Valley branch hours are Sun: 1-5; M and W: 12:30-8:00, Tu and Th: 9:30-5:30, F: 12:30-5:30, and Sat: 9:30-2:30.
All the amenities are available, including Internet-access, computers for word processing, and ample seating. Check out the interior photograph included in the gallery to see just how lovely it is.
