A crypt shaped marble memorial with a bronze USMC emblem and bronze plaques listing the names of the Marines of Chatham County, Georgia who lost their lives in the service of their county. A separate marble marker contains the name of the last Marine to be added to the memorial, GYSGT John L. Pearson, who lost his life in the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, on October 23, 1983. This memorial is located in Forsythe Park at the east end of the park on East Gaston Street.
