The Mesquite High School Gymnasium was built in 1938. It was built adjacent to the high school (since demolished). The building was built using federal Public Works Administration (PWA) funding. The Italian Renaissance Revival styled building became the center for community recreation. After the school was replaced the gym continued to serve as a community recreation center and also took on a new role of medical clinic. The building is used solely as a community recreation center.
