The Santiam Pass Summit is located on U.S. Hwy 20 on the Deschutes-Linn County Line. Originally the term Santiam Pass was applied to a location 3 miles to the south on an old wagon road. This pass was originally called Hogg Pass but when the highway was built here the name was changed to Santiam Pass.
