Located behind Sullivan County Justice Center. From Hwy 394 turn on Blountville Bypass (toward Sheriff's Office/Jail) go one block, turn left on Massengill Road. The shelter is on the right, approximately 0.2 mile.
SHELTER HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Saturday - 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. The shelter is closed: Sunday, Wednesday, Fifth Saturdays, Race Weekends and Major Holidays.
ALL DOGS AND CATS 3 MONTHS OR OLDER REQUIRE A RABIES SHOT WHICH COSTS $10. All animals not spayed or neutered require a $25.00 security deposit, that is refunded after the adopting party returns proof that the dog or cat has been spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering is required on all animals.
Unfortunately, the last time I was here was to drop off two cats since we could not find homes for them. Heartbreaking. Found homes for six of the kittens that were abandoned by next door neighbor, including adopting Toby - our tuxedo dressed black-n-white long-hair, who is shown in the gallery.
