Savage River State Forest encompasses much of the Savage River watershed in Garrett County, Maryland. There are two separate state parks, New Germany and Big Run, that sit within the boundaries of the state forest.
The headquarters are located off New Germany Road in a cluster of state park and state forest maintenance buildings. There is a home for the forest ranger adjacent to the headquarters.

Take Headquarters Drive (basically an access road) off New Germany Road near entrance to New Germany State Park.
