They have an urban nature center, a nature museum, a Butterfly Pavilion, Children's Activity Center, Creature Cavern, Insect Alley and Our Big Backyard just in the nature center alone.
There are numerous centers throughout this museum and you could spend an entire day with your children enjoying this facility.

Directions:
The Discovery Place parking deck is located directly behind the Museum at the corner of Church and Sixth Streets in downtown Charlotte. Enter the deck off of Sixth Street and grab a ticket from the automatic attendant and pay inside the Museum at any of the Admissions Desks.
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm
Saturday 9am to 6pm
Sunday noon to 6pm
