This waymark is for the main offices of Kingsport, TN including major, city manager, etc. Have paid for car licenses/tags and applied for passports here. Law enforcement is in a nearby building in the expanded govenment complex.

One of the photos shows the All-American City Award that Kingsport won in 1999.

Kingsport was founded around 1761 and incorporated in 1822. Sometime after the Civil War the city lost its Charter, as did many other Tennessee cities. In 1917, the modern City of Kingsport was incorporated and has become one of the leading industrial centers of Tennessee. Known as the Model City, Kingsport is one of the first fully planned and designed cities in the United States. Its proud planning heritage is found throughout the City in the form of its street design, most notably the Nolan Square and Church Circle, sound zoning and land use practices and most importantly, strong citizen involvement and volunteerism.
