This Smokey Bear vigilantly guards one of the multitude of entrances to this National Wildlife Refuge. It asks us to please be careful and to prevent wildfires. The sign is sponsored by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service and appears fairly new.

An undiscovered Smokey! RedRover and I believed they all had been found! This Smokey is on Route 9, in an area completely inundated by forest and green stuff. This particular area of the refuge is close and off-limits to humans. You can pull over to snap a quick one of the sign, then, be on your way!

The Smokey is located about two or so miles east of the center of town and the local fire department, where there is of course, another Smokey. New Gretna is an unincorporated area within Bass River Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.

The "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires" promotion conducted by the U.S. Forest Service, the National Association of State Foresters and the Ad Council, is the world's longest-running public service advertising campaign. To the surprise of many in my home county, Smokey Bear has been very active (in Camden County) and the rest of New Jersey during all those years.

This particular Smokey is in Burlington County.
