The fine, well-preserved Snelson Manor is located down a long drive from the road between Lavendon and Harrold next to the River Great Ouse. It dates back at least to the 14th Century and has an attached farm. This was once known as Snelston and there was a Mill. It was a Watermill with a free fishery and was in existence during the reign of Edward I, about 1323.
Male Dragontree's relatives used to live in Snelson Cottages along the main road, opposite the drive. It was in the attic of Snelson Manor that an old rate book was found, by the owner, bearing the names of these relatives.
