Evert Taube (March 12, 1890-January 31, 1976) was a Swedish author, artist, composer and singer. He is regarded as one of the finest troubadours in Sweden. He is perhaps best known as a depictor of the idyllic, with motifs from the Swedish archipelagoes and from the Mediterranean, from a perspective every Swedish four-week holiday tourist could recognize.

He stands not far from his favourite restaurant, the Gyllene Freden, with his most recent composition in hand. Thus has sculptor Karl Göte Bejemark depicted Evert Taube – a bronze sculpture in natural colours right on the sidewalk.
