This is such a stately manor complete with landscaping and a beautiful pool in the back yard, hardly what they intended in 1845, but desirable nonetheless. Located at 618 Chester Avenue, over a quarter mile or so from downtown Moorestown, this is one of 351 contributing buildings/structures to this historic district.
The Department of the Interior sent me the following narrative/information on this house:
"c.1845. 2 ½ story, 6-register Late Greek Revival-style house, stuccoed. Central porticoed entrance, segmental-arched pediment, fluted Doric columns and pilasters. 6-panel door, fanlight and sidelights. 6/6 double hung windows, paneled shutters at first floor, louvered at second floor. Box cornice, gabled asphalt roof, three segmental-arched pedimented dormers with pilaster surrounds. One chimney along ridge, one interior end. - Contributing.”
