This is a contributing home to the Moorestown Historic District which lines the N.W. side of Chester Avenue. Most of these homes are extremely huge and heavily landscaped compared to their Main Street counterparts, less than a half mile away.

This is such a stately manor complete with landscaping and a beautiful pool in the back yard, hardly what they intended in 1845, but desirable nonetheless. Located at 618 Chester Avenue, over a quarter mile or so from downtown Moorestown, this is one of 351 contributing buildings/structures to this historic district.

The Department of the Interior sent me the following narrative/information on this house:
"c.1845. 2 ½ story, 6-register Late Greek Revival-style house, stuccoed. Central porticoed entrance, segmental-arched pediment, fluted Doric columns and pilasters. 6-panel door, fanlight and sidelights. 6/6 double hung windows, paneled shutters at first floor, louvered at second floor. Box cornice, gabled asphalt roof, three segmental-arched pedimented dormers with pilaster surrounds. One chimney along ridge, one interior end. - Contributing.
