TT 19 DRD is a US Geological Survey bench mark disk mounted in the top of the eastern concrete abutment for the dam and spillway at the south end of Lake Accotink, Lake Accotink Park, Fairfax County, Virginia. The park is bounded by the King’s Park, Ravensworth and Cardinal Forest sections of Fairfax County. The dam and spillway at Lake Accotink is aligned west-southwest to east northeast. The eastern 75 percent of the dam is an earth-filled levee, and the western 25 percent is a concrete spillway with prominent abutments at either end. This station is mounted in the top of the more easterly of the two concrete structures, and is about nine feet above the level of the spillway. The disk is located 14.5 feet south-southeast of the north edge of the structure, 8.93 feet west-southwest of the east edge of the structure, 6.0 feet east-northeast of the west edge of the structure, and two feet southwest of a grey, metal pedestal that projects about four feet. The disk is stamped TT 19 DRD 198 FEET 1960. To reach the station from Exit 54 off Interstate Highway 495, go east on Braddock Road (County Road 620) for about 1.7 miles to the intersection with Backlick Road. Turn right and go southerly on Backlick Road (County Road 617) for about 1.5 miles to the intersection with Highland Street. Turn right and go westerly on Highland Street for about 0.8 miles to the intersection with Accotink Park Road. Turn left and go westerly on Accotink Park Road for about 1.0 miles to the parking area on the left and before crossing under the elevated railroad trestle. From the north end of the parking lot, walk north under the trestle to the concrete stairway that ascends the levee. From the top of the stairway, walk west along the top of the levee for about 81 feet to the spillway abutment and the station. Benchmark hunter "sixthings" provided information for this visit/recovery. First found on 11/26/2002, last visited 11/21/2005. This disk is about 1,000 feet southwest of the described location and adjusted coordinates for station GPS 71, PID = HV9682 (not found).
