This fountain is place at a busy intersection just west of the Westminster City Hall. It is a very large fountain, but only operates for approximately 5 months of the year. Our early freezes force it to be turned off usually in September. It is an unusual piece for Colorado since most of our animal art tends to be western animal (deer, elk, bears, mountain lions) instead of ocean life. I didn't realize this fountain was part of Westminster's Public Art since it is in the southwest corner of a large shopping center. I thought it was advertising for the shopping center.
