Turkey Swamp Park has everything a vacationing, camping family may need. Great campground...fishing, boating, hiking and all around playing.
The visitor center by the lake is also the Ranger Station...and while we were there waymarking, we had a chance to talk to the Ranger. Boy...he really wished more campers and hikers carried those "handy GPSs". We were asking the Ranger if there was a Smokey Bear on site (See Smokey Bear Sightings category). The Ranger did not recall seeing one in this park...said all the bears had been run off by coyotes.
Well, we did find Smokey down by the lake, poking his head out.
