George Manus, a Native American and member of the Cherokee and Delaware Nations, was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1936. He is self-taught in his art form and has been involved in sculpting since 1974. His use of discarded items in creating sculpture attests to his positive commitment to the environment.
Manus’ work is a blend of abstract and contemporary images and his ability to bring unrelated found and discarded objects together to form new identities, life, and purpose of being.
