The Port Isabel Visitor’s Center is housed in a reconstructed lightkeeper’s cottage adjacent to the Lighthouse. Inside you’ll find displays on Texas lighthouses, history on the Point Isabel Lighthouse, and tickets for the Port Isabel museums.

Although not an integral part of the Point Isabel Lighthouse, this is where you purchase the tickets for the journey to the top. They also sell combination tickets to the Port Isabel History Museum and Treasures of the Gulf Coast Museum. It’s well worth a few minutes of your time, and a nice substitute for climbing the stairs to the top of the lighthouse for the acrophobic.
